Garden Palette

             –Natural Dye Roving

Natural dyed roving turns into different objects

Instead of predetermining the palette based on inspiration, I opted for a more organic approach, letting the work unfold naturally by following the creative flow. I experimented with different dye sources, and reached a broad variety of colors.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR?

Six mini sets ware created based on the inspiration of the colour palette.

I grouped three colours together and spun them into a single yarn string.

Experimenting with nine different combinations, I crocheted them into small swatches.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE SEASON?

The needle felting technique was employed to craft four colour mixture palettes symbolizing the four seasons.

To enhance texture, I embroidered the samples with beads and sequins.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE PLANT?

For achieving the form of a miniature avocado, I crafted using a combination of dry and wet felting techniques. I initiated the process by felting a ball to represent the pit, followed by layering to simulate the pulp and shell. Finally, I cut the avocado in half to reveal its inner layers.

I used wires within the structure, employed the needle felting to create petals and stamens, assembling them into a lifelike flower.
